This Slope is Treacherous

I’m Allyson Rae. If you are reading this, you probably already know that. Or you are just insanely curious and like to creep strange people. Either way, that is my name. :) People call me Allyson, Ally, Al, Ally-Rae, and “hey, you.” My best friends call me B—for reasons unknown to you. ;) No one else is allowed to, so don’t even try it.

I am 23 and a recent graduate of SUNY Fredonia. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in Applied Music. So basically I have no idea what to do with my life now. Start a band? Eat chips? All I know is at least I am happy. My future is wide open, which is liberating and terrifying at the same time. And I know that in the end, I will wind up where I am meant to be. Life has a funny way of working out like that.

I’ve worked at T.J. Maxx for almost four years now—has it really been that long already? It’s pretty cool, 90% of the time. We have fun there, but damn, people are crazy. O.o

I fantasize about getting paid to watch TV and write about it. Seriously, it’s my dream job.

I like cats more than people. Seriously. And anytime you see me out in the world, you can assume I’d rather be in bed sleeping or watching Castle than wherever I am.

Speaking of Castle, it is the greatest show in the world. I can always count on Castle to put a smile on my face, even on my worst day. It gives me a reason to look forward to Mondays. And on January 31, 2012, the creator of Castle, Andrew W. Marlowe tweeted me back. I had a small heart attack.

I speak fluent sarcasm, and my sense of humor permeates my every move. Some people don’t get that about me.

I have carlanaphobia, which, according to Google, means a fear of driving a car. Don’t go there.

I know every word to every Taylor Swift song in existence (or at least the ones I have access to). The current Taylor Swift song count on my iPod is 249. Do not insult her in my presence because I will defend her to the death. June 21, 2011 I saw her live in Buffalo.  It was the best night of my life. ♥

I am more invested in the relationships of fictional characters than I care to admit, and I would rather spend my Friday nights reblogging cute cats on Tumblr than getting white girl wasted at Old Main. I have two amazing best friends who I love more than anything, and they will be the Co-Maids of Honor at my wedding one day. Even if that means I have to marry my cat. & now I have a beautiful “nephew” whom I take great pleasure in spoiling absolutely rotten. Zachary Edward - 02/25/12 ♥

I’m single, and I’m thoroughly enjoying it. I don’t have to worry about anyone but myself, and it’s refreshing. But that’s not to say that I would refuse if the perfect mixture of excitement and stability waltzed into my life with bright green eyes, perfect hair and a white horse. Or if Nathan Fillion decided to pay me a visit. Just sayin’.

My life? Beautiful Mess.
But I love a lot of things about it.

I like baking cupcakes; stargazing; watching Jeopardy; singing in the shower; Harry Potter; I Love Lucy reruns; Firefly (WHY WAS THERE NO SECOND SEASON?); Nathan Fillion; For Lovers Only; sunsets; bonfires; popcorn; clean sheets; Reeses S’mores; experimenting with nail polish & nail art; house hunting TV shows; the smell of old books; improperly using semicolons; late night phone calls; good morning text messages; writing in journals; having the windows down in the car; did I mention Nathan Fillion?; pandas; & cuddling with my cats. :)

I love TV. My first fandom was JAG (Harm & Mac for life). Since then I’ve fallen for Gilmore Girls (JavaJunkie; Luke & Lorelai), House (Huddy; House & Cuddy), Bones (Booth & Brennan), & Castle (Castle/Beckett). I also watch Mike & Molly (True love can happen for anyone), Firefly (Mal/Inara; Kaylee/Simon; Wash/Zoe), Law & Order: SVU (Elliott/Olivia<3), & Parenthood.
